A little bit about me…
Hello, my name is Karen and I have worked in the field of health and social care for over 30 years. My work in this area has offered me the opportunity to help and walk alongside many different people. Being able to actively listen, and explore with clients a broad spectrum of issues, using a collaborative approach, has allowed me to develop as a skilled and compassionate practitioner with a wealth of experience.
Having worked as a mental health nurse for many years, I believe that professional training is vital when offering any therapeutic service. This ensures standards of competence and contributes to the demonstration of safe and ethical practice.
I am a BACP registered counsellor offering short-term and longer-term counselling to adults. I've worked in a local counselling service, and continue to provide 1:1 bereavement support for a national organisation. I also work in private practice, and for a charity assessing and supporting unpaid carers. I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework to ensure that I work in an ethical way, and hold myself to the highest professional standards.
